The conversation can begin during your housing application. Employers make hiring decisions; openings, requirements and start dates vary.
Work transportation: $5 each way
Transportation to an approved employment location costs $5 each way, or $10 round trip. Your work location must be approved. Confirm the worksite, shift, pickup arrangements and ride availability with Lantern before making travel plans.
Ask how to request approval, arrange a ride and make payment. Do not assume every worksite or shift can be accommodated.

- Explore opportunities. Discuss job leads and the employer’s application requirements.
- Confirm your commute. Have the employment location approved and agree on ride arrangements before relying on transportation.

Tell Lantern about your existing employer and shift. You do not need a new job to discuss your transportation needs. Worksite approval and ride availability still apply.

No. Employers decide whom to hire. Lantern can discuss opportunities and practical next steps with you.
What if I have a background-check concern?
Ask about the requirements for each opening. Employer policies vary; a job lead does not mean that a particular background will be accepted. Discuss personal details privately with the appropriate staff member or employer.
Can I use the rides for any workplace?
No. The employment location must be approved, and your shift and pickup arrangements must be confirmed.
How much is a trip there and back?
$10 total: $5 for the trip to the approved employment location and $5 for the return trip.
