Two duplexes on approximately two acres

Randolph Community brings Lantern’s recovery housing program to Summerville, with two duplexes on approximately two acres, less than a mile from downtown. The photo above shows both buildings and their shared grounds.

Ask admissions which home has availability and what the current room and shared-space arrangements are. A website inquiry does not reserve a bed.

A home base for recovery and work

St. Johns House and Randolph Community are SCARR-certified recovery residences. Lantern is listed in the South Carolina Alliance for Recovery Residences directory. Certification relates to recovery housing; Lantern does not provide clinical treatment.

Residents have access to peer support, case management and employment assistance, along with planning for greater independence. Lantern is a non-clinical housing program; outside licensed professionals provide clinical care.

Make a practical commute plan

Consider your work hours and appointments when choosing a Summerville home. Discuss employment opportunities and transportation through Get Out and Work before relying on a ride.

After you are employed at an approved workplace, purchase ride tickets directly from Get Out and Live, the transportation nonprofit. Tickets cost $5 each way, or $10 round trip. Confirm that the workplace is approved and that your shift, pickup and return arrangements can be accommodated before buying tickets or relying on a ride.

Monthly housing and move-in costs

$995 per month. A weekly payment option is available at $248.75 per week. Admissions will explain payment dates and the billing schedule before you commit.

The intake fee is determined case by case. Confirm your intake fee, total move-in amount, and refund terms with admissions in writing before arranging move-in.
