Lantern Residences is proud to announce the opening of our newest transitional living property in Goose Creek, South Carolina — a beautifully renovated home with an additional guest house on the same lot. This location strengthens our mission of providing safe, structured, and affordable housing for individuals rebuilding their lives in recovery.
With room for 14 residents, this expansion represents another meaningful step toward meeting the growing demand for high-quality sober living options in the Charleston tri-county area.
At Lantern Residences, we are on a mission to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals seeking a fresh start. Today, we are thrilled to announce a major step forward in that mission—our transitional living program is growing, and we’re getting ready to open 8 new houses in Charleston, South Carolina! This expansion will bring 80 additional beds to the community, offering even more individuals the opportunity to rebuild and thrive.
The ongoing fentanyl crisis has taken another alarming turn with the discovery of a new industrial chemical, BTMPS, found in illicit fentanyl supplies. A recent investigation uncovered that in many cases, the quantity of BTMPS exceeded that of fentanyl itself. This raises serious concerns about the health risks associated with using illicit substances, as the effects of BTMPS on the human body remain largely unknown.
At Lantern Residences, we are proud to announce that we have officially received SCARR certification for three of our houses. This certification marks a major milestone in our mission to provide safe, structured, and supportive transitional living for individuals overcoming addiction, re-entering society from incarceration, or working toward stability after homelessness.
With SCARR certification, we are now able to help more people by expanding our reach and partnering with more facilities throughout South Carolina. This means greater access to essential resources, recovery support, and community services for our residents, ensuring they have the tools they need to rebuild their lives.
Our transitional living program offers more than just a place to stay—it provides a foundation for growth, offering structure, accountability, and access to job placement, educational programs, and mental health services. By working with treatment centers, correctional facilities, and support organizations, we can create a seamless transition for individuals seeking long-term stability and sobriety.
We are excited for this next chapter and remain committed to empowering individuals with a fresh start. If you or someone you know could benefit from a safe and supportive transitional living environment, we are here to help.
We’re excited to share that Lantern Residences, LLC is growing! In response to rising need and community demand, we will add 18–22 new beds in our Summerville, South Carolina facility. This expansion strengthens our capacity to provide transitional housing, supportive services, and recovery housing to more individuals and families in our region.
On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Lantern Residences is honored to participate as a vendor at the Charleston Veteran Stand Down for Homelessness, held at the Charleston Area Convention Center (Exhibit Halls B & C, 5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston) from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Lantern Residences is dedicated to providing transitional housing and resources for individuals recovering from addiction, recently released from incarceration, or managing mental health challenges.
To make a real impact, we’re building a network of local community partners who are already serving these populations. By working together, we can ensure no one is left without the support they need.
Do you know a program, organization, or group in Charleston that aligns with our mission? Let’s connect!
